This companion volume to Holidays and Festivals Index: A Descriptive Guide to Information on More Than 3,000 Holidays (Omnigraphics, 1995) provides an annotated bibliography of books on holidays, festivals, and calendars. Works were chosen for accessibility, with favor given to current or classic texts likely to be found in public libraries, e.g., Robert Chambers's The Book of Days (Omnigraphics, 1990. reprint). Chapters cover world, religious, ethnic, and national holidays, past and present, with a separate section on calendar and time systems. Adult and children's titles are interspersed. The sections on periodicals, associations, and websites are sparse, with few focusing solely on holidays.
