Rare GALE ROTHSTEIN II, abstract, modernist, gold, abalone shell, rhinestone runway pendant necklace.
This unique 1980s assemblage necklace is quite a statement piece.
The gold 30" x 1/8" pelline/bead chain has a secure ball and socket closure.
The designer pendant measures 2 7/8" x 1 3/4" and is constructed of found objects. An open oval gold gilt base, natural abalone shell inset into a gold frame, two incised and curled leaf-type adornments with a faceted powder blue prong-set rhinestone at the junction complete the pendant.
Signed "©GALE ROTHSTEIN II". All pieces of Rothstein jewelry were handcrafted using found jewelry elements. No two items were alike. (READ MORE BELOW)
Although one may find many Rothstein earrings and brooch creations, her necklaces are quite rare.
