A porcelain vintage artisan pin, in modernist geometric enamel design with 3d feature.
Pre-owned, estate collection, lightly worn, one owner, bought by family at the porcelain factory during 1980s travels in Bavaria, Germany. Inspect photos for design, marks, size with coin and ruler, colors, condition, with a bit of scuffing (hey it’s vintage.)
Brand is Rosenthal, mark is J Loon. Square 1.5” x 1.5”, 13 grams.
Vintage Trivia: Design mark shows that Johan V Loon (1934-2020) was the artist who designed the pin, then made into production by Rosenthal. Loon has a Wiki pedia description. The Rosenthal company states they invented “porcelain as a design object” and traces this back to the Bauhaus art movement, so the pin is interesting wearable art!
