◯ Popularity is rapidly increasing due to the revival of 80's and 90's styles, and the price of 90's Valencia-made 501s has been soaring in recent years. This is a 501 produced at the Valencia factory, known as the "last American-made" with the button back stamp 555.
Although the leather patch says 501, as you can see from the inner tag, it is a reproduction of the 503, which was first published in the 1930s. The 503 is popular among Levi's for its most relaxed silhouette. A beautiful loose silhouette that falls straight from the roomy thigh area to the hem.
The length has been raised to 32 inches in actual size, but the fact that it has been properly chain-stitched is a plus.
The red face tab has a "Big E" and of course "selvage" red ear.
