Skarn Mineral Rock specimen measuring approximately 4 inches wide personally collected on Mount Hodnett Located in the Southern Yukon in 1997 while working as a hard rock mining Claims manager / geologist with Omni Resources Inc. This specimen was found in a Llewellyn Fault shear zone and has a mixture of bull and clear quartz with purple amethyst crystals interbedded with yellow golden chalcopyrite with some green verdigris oxidation, rusty pyrite and light green sericite bleaching of shist or clay mineral clasts within the matrix, weighs 600.7 grams. I cut one end of the specimen with a diamond bladed saw to expose and examine the rock matrix which is highly cross cut with brecciated and healed textures. This rock specimen is in good condition, is chunky and would make a nice cabinet display specimen.
