Very Rare Early Victorian Piece,

This hand of Fatima knocker certainly had a knock plate that is no longer with it. It weighs close to 3 lbs and is solid brass with a very old patina intact. The iron swing pin is rusted, it still holds the hand firmly.

Most Likely made in France 1790-1810, though could be from anywhere around the Mediterranean area with Moorish influence.

It’s our opinion it likely had a different size matching knocker mate for male/female distinction in Muslim households.
