Authentic vintage Castagna lion figurine, beautifully sculpted in a reclining pose with detailed mane, musculature, and expressive face. This piece is clearly identified as Castagna, a respected Italian maker known for high-quality animal figures. Castagna is well regarded for naturalistic animal modeling and Italian craftsmanship. Pieces with original foil labels intact are increasingly difficult to find and are especially appealing to European figurine collectors.
Original foil sticker reads: “Original by Castagna – Made in Italy – 1988”. Molded imprint on side: “@82 Castagna” (appears to be a mold or copyright date rather than production year). Common with Castagna figures, the sticker year and molded copyright date may differ, reflecting mold creation vs. production run.
Very good vintage condition. No cracks, chips, or repairs. Paint remains strong with light age-appropriate wear. Original label intact (see photos). Figurine is about 2.5" long X 1.5" tall X 1" deep.
